What is Essay Writer?
Give it a topic and it drafts a structured essay — introduction, body paragraphs with a point each, and a conclusion. You choose the essay type, the length, the academic level and the tone. No account and nothing held back for a paid tier.
What this is genuinely good for
The hardest part of an essay is usually not the writing but the shape: what the argument is, what order the points go in, where the evidence sits. A generated draft solves that in seconds, and it is a far better starting point than a blank page.
Used well, you take the structure and write the essay yourself — keeping the skeleton, replacing the generic content with what you actually know, your own reading and your own argument. That is a legitimate and genuinely useful way to work, and it is faster than staring at an empty document for an hour.
The citations option produces placeholders, not sources
This is the most important thing on the page, and no competing tool says it.
The Citations placeholder structure option adds markers showing where references belong. It does not find real sources. If you ask a language model for citations it will produce ones that look entirely plausible — correct-sounding author names, real-sounding journals, well-formed page numbers — for papers that do not exist. This is a documented and very common failure, and it is the way students using tools like this are most often caught: a marker checks one reference and it is not real.
So treat every reference position as a note to yourself. Find the actual source, read enough of it to know it says what you are claiming, and cite that. Never submit a citation you have not personally verified exists.
Choosing the settings
The type changes the shape more than the tone. Argumentative takes a position and defends it. Persuasive aims at convincing rather than weighing. Expository explains without arguing. Compare & Contrast runs two subjects against each other. Descriptive and Narrative are for writing that shows rather than argues. Picking the one your assignment actually asks for matters more than any other setting.
Academic level shifts vocabulary and how much is assumed of the reader — Undergraduate is the default. Length runs from 250 to 2000 words. One practical note: the 2000-word setting sits close to the generation limit and can come back shorter than asked. If that happens, generate the halves separately and join them.
The structure options are all on by default, and Thesis highlight is worth keeping — seeing the thesis marked out makes it obvious whether the argument is actually one sentence you could defend.
Where the line is
Submitting generated text as your own work is academic misconduct wherever AI use is prohibited, and rewording it does not change that. Universities and schools set their own rules: many now permit AI assistance with disclosure, and if yours does, disclose it. If it does not, use this to plan and then write the essay yourself.
Beyond the rules, a generated essay is average by construction — it is assembled from what is commonly said about a topic. The marks come from your reading, your specific evidence and an argument that is yours.
What happens to your text
Unlike the PDF and image tools on ToolsHall, this one is not browser-only: your topic and settings are sent to a language model. Input is capped at 8,000 characters per run and usage at 30 runs an hour, which keeps it free without an account.
