What is Grammar Fixer?

Paste your text, choose how heavily you want it corrected, and get a clean version back with the grammar, spelling and punctuation fixed. There is no account, no trial and no paid tier holding back the useful half — which is the main thing that separates this from the well-known checkers, where the real corrections tend to appear behind a subscription prompt.

Three correction levels, and when each one is right

This is the setting that matters, and most checkers do not offer it. Light fixes only what is clearly wrong — typos, misspellings, missing punctuation — and leaves your phrasing exactly as you wrote it. Use it when the text already sounds the way you want and you are only hunting mistakes.

Standard is the default. It fixes errors and also tidies awkward constructions, which suits most email, coursework and everyday writing.

Thorough intervenes the most, reworking clumsy sentences as well as correcting them. It is the right choice when you are writing in a second language and want the result to read naturally to a native speaker, and the wrong choice when you have a distinctive voice you want preserved. If a Thorough pass comes back sounding like someone else wrote it, that is the setting, not a fault — run it again on Light.

Seeing what changed

By default you get the corrected text on its own, ready to copy. Turn Show Corrections on and the changes are identified for you, which is worth doing if you want to learn from the edits rather than just accept them — particularly useful for the same mistake you keep making. You can copy the result or download it, and there is a word count on the output.

What happens to your text

Unlike the PDF and image tools on ToolsHall, this one is not browser-only. Your text is sent to a language model to be corrected, so do not paste anything confidential — client data, unpublished work, anything under an NDA. Input is capped at 8,000 characters per check, roughly 1,200 words, so longer documents should be done a section at a time. Usage is limited to 30 checks an hour, which is what keeps it free and available without an account.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the grammar checker free, and is there a word limit?

It is free with no account and nothing held back behind a paid tier. Each check accepts up to 8,000 characters, roughly 1,200 words, and you can run 30 checks an hour. Longer documents can be done a section at a time.

Which correction level should I pick?

Light when your phrasing is already how you want it and you only want mistakes removed. Standard for most writing, which is why it is the default. Thorough when you want awkward sentences reworked as well as corrected.

Will it change my writing style?

Thorough will, by design - it rewrites clumsy sentences rather than only fixing them. If you want your voice left intact, use Light, which corrects errors and leaves your wording alone.

Is my text private?

This tool is not browser-only. Unlike the PDF and image tools on ToolsHall, your text is sent to a language model in order to be corrected, so avoid pasting confidential or unpublished material into it.

Can I see what was changed?

Yes. Turn on Show Corrections and the changes are identified alongside the result, which is useful if you want to learn from the edits rather than simply accept them.

Does it work for non-native English writing?

Yes, and Thorough is usually the right level for it - that setting reworks phrasing that is grammatically correct but does not sound natural, not just outright errors.
