What is Video Compressor?
Compress video files to get them under an upload limit — WhatsApp's 16MB, Gmail's 25MB, a job portal that refuses anything over 50MB. The compression runs inside your browser using FFmpeg, so the video is never uploaded to a server. On a 400MB clip that alone saves more time than the compression takes, because you are not waiting for an upload before anything can start.
What the three quality presets actually do
Almost every compressor gives you a vague quality slider. This one uses H.264 with three named settings, and it is worth knowing what they mean. Web compresses hardest and is the right choice for anything that will be watched on a phone. Balanced is the default and the one to keep unless you have a reason not to — visually it is close to the original for most footage. High Quality barely touches the picture and is for footage you will edit again or show on a large screen.
Resolution is the other lever, and often the more powerful one. Dropping a 4K clip to 1080p removes three quarters of the pixels before the compressor even starts. You can keep the original resolution or scale to 1080p, 720p, 480p or 360p, and the aspect ratio is preserved either way. For getting something under a hard size limit, lowering resolution first and then choosing Balanced usually beats keeping 4K and compressing brutally.
What it costs you to keep it off a server
The first time you use any video tool here, your browser downloads the FFmpeg engine — about 25MB. It is cached afterwards, so only the first run waits. Compression then happens on your own processor, which means a short clip is quick and a long one on an older laptop is not. Anything over about 100MB will take real time, and past 500MB the tool asks you to confirm before starting. A desktop or laptop handles large files far more comfortably than a phone.
There is no file size cap imposed by ToolsHall, no queue, no account and no watermark on the output. The result is always an MP4 with AAC audio, which plays everywhere, and the tool shows you the original size, the new size and the percentage saved.

If the file is too big because it is too long, Trim Video cuts it down before compressing. Video Converter changes the format rather than the size, and Video to MP3 pulls out just the audio when the picture is not what you needed.
